Mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in the United States. One in five American adults will experience a mental illness in a given year. Unlike most disabling physical health conditions, mental illnesses usually begin early on in life - 50% by age 14 and 75% by age 24. But help is available, recovery is possible, and early intervention is key. Health screenings provide a quick and easy way to spot the first signs of mental illness. If you think you might be depressed, struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition, please talk to your doctor. Asking for help is a sign of courage, not a sign of weakness. So be brave. You're worth it.
